Before you get our advice

Who is my adviser?

Your adviser is an authorised representative of Capital Creation Pty Ltd, and Capital Creation Pty Ltd is responsible for the conduct of your adviser.

 

Who will be responsible for the advice given to me?

Your adviser will be acting on behalf of Capital Creation Pty Ltd. Capital Creation Pty Ltd is therefore responsible to you for any advisory services that your adviser provides. Capital Creation Pty Ltd is a licensed dealer under the Corporations Law. Capital Creation Pty Ltd is a principal member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA).

 

What advisory services are available to me?

We offer you the following services:
  • Financial planning advice.
  • Superannuation and rollover advice.
  • Advice on shares, unit trusts, managed funds.
  • Portfolio management service.
  • Insurance.

We provide advice on shares, superannuation and unit trust products, managed funds, annuities, pensions, insurance bonds, life & risk insurance. We only recommend an investment to you after considering its suitability for your individual investment objectives, financial situation and needs. Capital Creation Pty Ltd offers both personal and general advisory services. Clients should be aware that when general securities advice is provided it will not necessarily be appropriate for every client. That is why we recommend you seek a personalised review of your investment objectives, particular needs and circumstances before making an investment decision.

 

How will I pay for the service?

There are a range of payment options available. Your adviser will explain these options to you in more detail.

  1. Commission
    Our payments for managed funds come from commissions paid to us by the product issuers whose products we recommend and sell to you, and / or
  2. Fees
    We will charge a fee directly to you.

For the Portfolio Management Service an initial fee is paid. This fee is a flat fee for service and is between 0.5 % - 1 %. Ongoing fees are also payable monthly in arrears. This ongoing fee is 1.5 % per annum.

Fees are payable after we provide the service.
GST fees apply in addition to the above fees.

 

How are the fees & commissions calculated & deducted

Portfolio Management Service

Fees will be calculated at 1.5% p/a of funds invested. Fees are calculated on the balance of the portfoilo on the last working day of the each month.

Managed Funds

We receive between 0% and 4% commissions from fund managers and other product issuers whose products we recommend to you. Some companies also pay us an ongoing commission.

These trail commissions will be calculated on the basis of the funds invested. They will be deducted from the funds you have given the fund manager. These trail commissions range from 0.25 - .5% per annum.

Shares

Our commission comes from the share broker. Commission is charged at 1%. Capital Creation receives 0.5% of the commission.

 

When you get our advice

Do I get detailed information about actual commissions and other benefits my adviser gets from making the recommendations?

Yes. You have the right to know about details of commissions and other benefits your adviser receives for recommending investments. We will provide this information to you when we make specific recommendations.

 

Will you give me advice which is suitable to my investment needs and financial circumstances?

Yes. But to do so we need to find out your individual investment objectives, financial situation and needs before we recommend any investment to you.

You have the right not to divulge this information to us, if you do not wish to do so. In that case, we are required to warn you about the possible consequences of us not having your full personal information. You should read the warnings carefully.

 

What should I know about any risks of the investments or investment strategies you recommend to me?

We will explain to you any significant risks of investments and strategies which we recommend to you. If we do not do so, you should ask us to explain those risks to you.

 

What information do you maintain in my file and can I examine my file?

We maintain a record of your personal profile which includes details of your investment objectives, financial situation and needs.

We also maintain records of any recommendations made to you.

If you wish to examine your file, you should ask us and we will make arrangements for you to do so.

 

Can I tell you how I wish to instruct you to buy or sell my investment?

Yes, you may specify how you would like to give us instructions. For example, Telephone, fax or other means. This instruction should be provided in writing.

 

If you have any complaints

Who can I complain to if I have a complaint about the advisory service?

If you have any complaint about the service provided to you, you should take the following steps:

  1. Contact your adviser about your complaint.

  2. If your complaint is not satisfactorily resolved within 7 days, please contact the Directors, Capital Creation Pty Ltd on (03) 9523 7569, or put your complaint in writing. Send it to 229 Glen Huntly Road, Elsternwick, Vic 3185. We will try to resolve your complaint quickly and fairly.

  3. If you still do not get a satisfactory outcome, you have the right to complain to the Financial Industry Complaints Service, PO Box 579 Collins Street West, MELBOURNE VIC 8007. [Telephone (03)9629 7050]. We are a member of this scheme.

The Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC) also has a freecall Infoline on 1300 300 630 which you may use to make a complaint and obtain information about your rights.
